Community Walk/Hike Host- Ellyn Corey

Description: My walk will begin at the boat launch area of Shoreline Park at 9:30am with a short meditation, and we will walk along the Bay shore looking for birds and contemplating the water.
The walk will last about 2 hours. We can picnic on the lawn following our walk. The terrain is pretty flat.

A community is hard to find. It is a very precious thing. Sangha (community) is relationship—seeing others, being seen by others. To open to others, to see who they are and to start to recognize how practice works in their lives, is important. The Dharma is expressed in who they are. If we recognize other ways of practice and how awakening manifests, then in some way we have access to it. We are informed by it. Part of a relationship is being seen—to come out of hiding. There is value in practicing together and keeping a form. You put your slippers straight and you make space for others. A little gesture like that creates a connection that’s subterranean, like the root system of grasses. Collectively, there is great wisdom, and we can only possess a certain part of it.Thank you for being a part of this community!
