Meditation Monday March 14th Why is This So Bleeping Hard?

March 14, 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm PDT

I heard you and there were two options for us to study:
One is to continue The Compassion Course Book
And the other is to read and study  Real Love by Sharon Salzberg
So let’s do both!
We can do the first two weeks taking a chapter from The Compassion course, and the last two weeks of the month discussing Real Love.
Since most of us have the The Compassion Course Book- we will continue with Chapter 9 , Why is this so Bleeping Hard?

New students do not need the book to participate.

Our guided meditation practice will include Tonglen (Compassionate Breathing) for the people of Ukraine

When: March 14th  -Monday 6:30pm-8:30pm Pacific Time (US and Canada)

I think of my own habitual patterns and how the many ways that my mindfulness meditation practice has helped me. But the one that stands out is the Mindful Pause. When I am feeling tense and craving a sweet (when I just had lunch🙂 ) or starting to bite my nails, I pause and come back to my heart and awareness of my body and breath. It’s like catching an ember before it turns into a flame. I pause and get curious about my feelings. Most of the time I feel disconnected to my basic goodness. it is there that I can investigate the tension, fear, restlessness. So I get curious about my feelings and meet them with kindness. This pause is just long enough to help me feel and be with it and let it dissolve in a healthy way without harm to myself or others.

Mindful Pause- They say whatever you practice at -grows stronger. -Fern
